Advent Calendar from a box of matches
Make your little ones happy with advent calendar that hides sweet bites.
Use boxes of matches painted and decorated with napkin technique to make containers for sweets.
Prepare:
- a base 30 x 40 cm (thick cardboard, plywood or canvas)
- 24 boxes of matches
- 24 little sweets or chocolates
- a napkin with Christmas motif
- glue for napkin technique
- acrylic paint for the base
- white acrylic paint
- glitter contour paint (or Fun & Fancy)
- glue
1 Paint the base with the paint that
matches the motif on the napkin. Empty the box of matches and
than paint the upper part and both sides in white acrylic. Leave
it to dry 10 min.
2 Cut the napkin in 4 parts, separate
the white layers. Place the napkin face downward. Place six boxes
on every 1/4 of the napkin from each other along the longer sides
of the boxes.
3 Glue the upper side of the box with
napkin glue and then glue it to the chosen place. Once glued,
mark each box to remember the right order. Don't forget to write
the numbers as reflected in the mirror. (from right to left)
4 Cut the extra along the shorter
sides of the boxes and leave extra along the longer sides for the
fold.
5 Fold the extra and glue it to the
sides.
6 Put a candy in each box and place
them on the base according to the numbers on their back sides. Be
careful to leave space to open the boxes, i.e. get the sweets
out.
7 What is left is writing down the
numbers and sweet countdown can start.
