Make your kids happy with advent calendar whose pockets are full with sweets.
It is simple to make, no need for a sewing machine.
You will need:
- felt in green shade, size 45 x 35 cm (for the base);
- felt in different shades for decorations;
- scissors and glue;
- a bamboo or wooden stick;
- cardboard for base;
- Pictixx or 3D Liner.
1 Cut green felt into a rectangular, additionaly cut a few ribbons on the upper margin which you will tie around the bamboo. The size of our calendar is 45 x 35 cm, the size of yours is up to you.
2 Tie the ribbons around the bamboo and then glue them.
3 Draw a Christmas motive (or photocopy it from a magazine) on a piece of paper. Then cut it out from the bits and pieces of felt in different shades and then stick it on the top of the calendar. Leave enough space for pockets.
4 Cut 24 pockets out of red felt in shape of a trapeze, size 5 x 4 cm, to allow you to put more sweets in them. Additionally, decorate the pockets with bits and pieces of felt in different shades.
5 Write numbers on pockets for countdown, use Pictixx or 3D Liner. Leave it to dry 5 hours and then "blow it" with a hair dryer or iron.
6 Use a glue pistol or fabric glue to glue the pockets onto the chosen places. Fill them with sweets and make your kids happy.
