Biedermeier baubles
If you have antique furniture, decorative baubles made of bits and pieces of fabric will nicely fit the classical style of the end of 19th century.
Material and tools:
- bits and pieces of decorative fabric;
- 1.5 m ribbon in Biedermeier style (or deco chain);
- polystyrene baubles 8 cm or bigger;
- hangers for polystyrene baubles;
- glue for polystyrene;
- hot glue;
- scissors.
1 This pattern is adjusted to the size of the bauble of 10 cm, so if you have bigger or smaller ones, you will have to adjust the pattern accordingly. Dotted lines mark the place where it should be folded.
2 Transfer the pattern on the fabric and cut out two "slices" of each pattern.
3 Glue the first "slice" with polystyrene glue, but do not glue the edges. Press the edges into polystyrene and the top of the bauble with scissors.
4 Do the same with the rest of the "slices".
5 Glue the decorative ribbon along the edges with hot glue.
6 Insert the "hanger" on the top of the bauble and thread a ribbon for hanging through it. If you wish you can add a decorative bow at the top of the bauble.
