Christmas decorations made of FIMO air light modelling clay
FIMO air light is especially soft and light modelling clay.
It is, because of its consistency, similar to salty dough or Play-Doh. It is air dried. After drying, modelling objects can be modified using file and sand paper. Besides white, FIMO air light comes in 6 basic colours. Due to its lightness it's best for making different mobiles, figurines or Christmas tree decorations. It is made of natural materials thus suitable for children to play with.
1 Use a mould. Don't forget to make
holes for hanging! Moulds for baking cookies or the ones for
plaster are excellent.
2 Use a glass bottle or a rolling pin
for FIMO to roll flat the modelling clay, then cut out the shapes
you want. Instead of a glass bottle or a rolling pin you can use
your hands. Since the modelling clay should be smooth wet your
hands to avoid dryness and cracking.
Stars are also made with moulds for baking cookies and after drying are decorated with silver contour for silk. Use the modelling clay to make other decorative elements, from candle holders or napkin rings, to variety of figurines. Its lightness makes it an excellent material for decorating gifts or Cristmas cards.
