FIMO soft table deco for Christmas
These white Christmas trees and serviette rings are quick and easy to make!
Christmas is just around the corner!
What could be nicer than starting to collect ideas for the right festive table decorations? This classic combination of colours in red, white and green can be relied upon to create a snug and warm atmosphere in any home. These white Christmas trees and serviette rings are quick and easy made using FIMO and are perfect for adding a wonderfully personal touch to dinner tables.
1 Pretty white Christmas trees are decorated with some red elements. To make these, shape 3 strips of FIMO soft in Christmas red to a ball. Then roll the ball flat using the acrylic roller so that you are left with a round sheet.
2 Spray a little water onto the ‚music' texture sheet and then place it on the rolled-out FIMO.
Press on slightly and then roll over the texture sheet with the acrylic roller applying an even amount of pressure as you do so in order to emboss the pattern in the modelling clay.
Peel the texture sheet off carefully. Moisten the texture sheet with a little water before each use. This enables a clean and easy removal of the mould from the sheet of FIMO.
3 Use shaped cutters to cut out stars or hearts as required. Left-over bits of FIMO can be reused – simply knead together, roll and cut out more motifs.
4 Carefully apply gold powder to the cut-out stars using your finger. You can leave some plain without gold if you like.
5 For the tree, roll half a block of white FIMO soft to a ball and then form into a cone shape.
6 To decorate the trees, roll half a strip of Christmas red FIMO soft to a sausage. Use to wrap around the trees. To make polka-dot trees, shape a piece of Christmas red FIMO soft into a thick sausage and cut thin slices off it. Roll the slices into small balls and press onto the trees as ornaments.
7 To make the serviette rings, take four strips of FIMO soft in white. Shape to a ball, roll out flat using the acrylic roller and cut out an approx. 14 x 3 cm wide stripe.
8 Shape the stripe of FIMO into a ring and smooth over the join well both on the inside and out. For better stability, slide the FIMO ring onto an empty roll of toilet paper or kitchen roll.
9 Take a quarter of a strip of FIMO soft in Christmas red and a quarter of a strip of FIMO soft in white. Roll each colour to a sausage.
10 Place the sausages side by side and twist them together.
11 Use the blade to cut approx. 3 to 5 cm long pieces off and form these into candy canes.
12 Press them onto the serviette rings and harden everything in the oven for approx. 30 minutes at 110°C.
