Basket made of organza
You can turn organza into a light basket using Deco Festiger.
Fill it with flowers and easter eggs and you'll get a nice spring decoration.
For a basket 14 cm in diameter you will need:
- organza (or silk or tulle) 35 x 60 cm
- Deco Festiger
- a bowl similar in diameter
... and for decoration:
- florist sponge
- moss or decorative grass
- spring flowers
- decorative butterflies.
Deco Festiger is a practical fastener which you can use to shape soft materials such as fabric or rice paper.
Instructions:
1 Fold the organza and spread Deco Festiger on it. It becomes transparent when completely dry.
2 Place the bowl in the middle of the organza, squeeze it as much as you want, and two longer bits turn into a handle for the basket. Use pegs till Deco Festiger starts being effective.
3 Leave it to dry at room temperature for 24 hours, 15 min in the oven at 100°C or use a hair dryer.
4 When the basket is dry, you can take out the glass bowl, the shape will remain. Place sisal in the basket, decorate it with artificial spring flowers and add eggs.
5 In case you want to use fresh flowers, leave the glass bowl in the basket with florist sponge, wet it throughly.
6 Cover the top with moss and then insert spring flowers.
