Basket with Cowslips

Window colour paints are mostly used to decorate, but here is something new - fantastic decorative flowers.

Make flowers just like genuine ones, or the ones that will substitute the seasonal ones, or
simply let your imagination do the job.

Material and tools:

- window colour (Fun & Fancy or Window Pen) in yellow and green shades
- transparent foil for painting
- green silk (or crepe) paper
- aluminimum wire 0.80 or 1.00 mm (about 3 meters)
- pliers
- a few yellow or green beads.

Instructions:

1 Bend the wire to get a heart shape. You will need five petals for every flower. Keep the wire flat so that it fits the base.

2 Place the shaped petals on the foil for window colour paints. If any of the petals doesn't fit well, press it with a heavy object. Fill the petal with paint - the coat mustn't be thin as it easily cracks. Leave it to dry overnight.

3 Lift petals off the foil when hard. Use little scissors to cut off the extra paint.

4 Fix the bead (for pistil) with wire and leave an extra 10 cm of the wire.

5 Use your fingers and carefully mould the wire to get the shape of petals.

6 Gather the petals, thread the wire with bead through the middle and wrap it together with the  extra wire.

7 Cut out leaves from green silk paper (or crepe paper) and ribbons 3 to 4 cm in width.
Just a drop of glue under the petals and start wrapping the stalk.

8 When you reach the place for leaves, place them next to the stalk and continue with wrapping using the paper ribbon.

9 When you reach the end, use your fingers to tighten it and finish with a drop of glue.
