A greeting card with origami tree
Use decorative paper left-overs to make this greeting card.
It's easily folded into an envelope even though it is a 3D.
Material and tools:
- colourful decorative
paper
- zig-zag scissors
- paper glue
- a decorative ribbon
- a cardboard box for base
- glitter liner
- paper puncher with star motif
How to:
1 Take three squares of the colourful paper to make a tree. Cut it out with zig-zag scissors.
2 Fold the paper diagonally (into a triangle).
3 Open it and repeat the procedure with the other diagonal.
4 "Press" the two opposite triangles towards the middle. Now you have a big triangle.
5 The left wing of the triangle fold towards the middle of the triangle. Do the same with the right wing.
6 Do the same with other three squares. You can paint the bottom edges with dark green acrylic paint or the white one, if you want to get the snow effect on the branches.
7 Cut out the base. Spread glue on the back of the smallest triangle and glue it onto the base. Press into it and then glue the middle triangle and finally the biggest one. Glue the "trunk" on the bottom and a gold star on the top.
8 You can also decorate the tree with a decorative ribbon and glitter liner.
