Medallion with a picture

Make your own oldfashioned medallion with a picture of your choice.

Material and tools:

Sculpey or FIMO in white, black and rose shades
a photocopy of a little picture the size you want for the medallion (if it has something written mirror photocopy it)
clay extruder
a scalpel for Sculpey or FIMO
polish for Sculpey or FIMO

Instructions:

1 Roll out a sheet of white Sculpey, little bit bigger than the picture. Face the photocopy of the picture towards Sculpey. Smooth it out with with fingers (or a spoon). Sprinkle with water.

2 Rub lightly the backside of the picture, the wet paper gets removed gradually while the picture remains on Sculpey.

3 Cut out the picture, roll out a thin sheet of black Sculpey and place the picture on it. Use a squeezer with round pattern to squeeze out the thinnest strip. Place the strip around the picture and press lightly.

4&5 Cut out the shape of the medallion with a scalpel, do not forget to cut little holes for ribbon or chain. Bake for 20min at 110°C.

6 Polish cooled medallion with polish for Sculpey or FIMO.
