Silk shawl
Silk shawls are very trendy. Make your own choosing colours and patterns you want.
We offer a wide range of already sewn shawls and scarves as well as the ones with patterns waiting for you to colour them.
Material and tools:
- a silk shawl from Gutta collection
- a wooden frame to stretch the silk
- pins for silk
- soft brushes for silk
1 Adjust the size of the frame to the
size of shawl and with pins for silk stretch it on the frame. The
silk should not touch the base.
2 Start painting with a thinner brush
for smaller surfaces.
Take care: stop the brush at least 2mm off the contour since the
colour spreads by itself.
When painting a bigger surface prepare everything in advance
since you will be working without stopping. If not, the dark
paint will have a dark edge which you cannot cover. Use a thicker
sponge brush for painting bigger surfaces (like the one for
radiators). Such brushes absorb more paint and release it
equally.
3 When the paint is dry, adjust iron
at silk temperature and iron the back side of the shawl for 2
minutes, equally ironing over the whole surface to fix the
paint.Wash the shawl in cold running water and while it is still
wet iron it again.
