Mixed Media Gift Bag
Decorate a paper bag using different techniques.
Material and tools:
- a paper bag
- softpaper, rice paper or napkin with romantic motif
- white acrylic paint
- a medallion
- wooden heart
- pompoms and flowers set in white color
- decoupage glue for textile "Textile medium"
- lace
Instructions:
1 Cut the softpaper in chosen size and glue it. Glue the lace on the edges.
2 Randomly paint the edges of the lace with white acrylic paint.
3 Spray the whole bag with darker shade of acrylic paint.
4 Cut a heart and flowers from the softpaper. Spread Textile medium onto the cloth and place carefully the napkin motifs. Give it another coat of varnish. Leave it to dry (use a hair dryer to speed it up).
5 Do the same with the chosen message.
6 When the glue is dry, cut out the motif leaving a few mm around the edge. Tear carefully a few layers to get a worn effect.
7 Spread little white acrylic on the edges of the wooden heart.
8 Glue the white little rose from the scrapbooking set onto the medallion.
9 Place all the above on the bag and glue it. If you wish you can add mother of pearl buttons, silk flowers, paper clips and similar.
