MASKING with Marabu Alcohol Ink
Fixogum is ideal as a masking agent.
Marabu Fixogum is ideal as a masking agent for non-absorbent surfaces in combination with Alcohol Ink. It can simply be rubbed off when finished the art work.
How it is done:
1 Cover the work surface and your clothing. Put on disposable gloves. Put on a protective mask and open the windows.
2 Shake the metallic and diamond Alcohol Inks until the pigments are evenly dispersed. If the bottle has already been opened (see step 3): place a gloved finger over the open bottle tip and shake well.
3 How to open the Alcohol Ink bottle: pull off the cap and insert a pin into the top of the bottle tip.
4 Apply Fixogum to the surface (e.g. in the form of text, lines etc.) and leave to dry.
5 Next, apply Alcohol Ink as desired. Allow to dry completely.
6 The Fixogum glue can then be simply rubbed off the background to reveal the image previously drawn on.
NOTE
Marabu Fixogum is an elastic adhesive for graphic design and craft use. Glues paper, cardboard, paste board, plastic film and other flexible materials. For non-permanent or permanent fixing. Glued parts will not deform. Does not ripple the paper, ideal for photographs. Any adhesive residue can simply be rubbed off. On the basis of natural rubber and organic solvents. Not resistant to ageing. Acid-free.
Marabu Alcohol Ink is suitable for non-absorbent surfaces (e. g. coated special paper, glass, metal, porcelain, etc.). Please note, that Alcohol Ink is not dishwasher safe and only suitable for art objects/decorative items. It is not food-safe or saliva-proof and must not be used on cut surfaces or drinking edges.
Keep away from open flames (e.g. candles), as Alcohol Ink is highly flammable.
