Simple Mandala Stenciled Planter
Add a trendy mandala design to a terra cotta pot with Americana Decor® Outdoor Living™.
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: Let dry completely between painting steps.
1 Using a flat brush, apply two coats of black paint to the surface of the pot.
2 Once the paint has dried fully, use painter's tape to adhere the Mandala Stencil to the pot. (The curve of the pot can make it a little challenging, so be generous with the tape.)
3 Using a stencil sponge brush, lightly dab paint on the stencil. (Patience is a must for this step: you want light layers and to let each layer dry fully before moving on.)
4 Allow the paint to dry fully before removing the stencil and tape from the pot. (If any of the paint has smudged outside of the mandala design, now is the time to do some touch-ups with a smaller brush.)
HELPFUL HINTS
Be sure to put down a protective covering on your work area.
Resist globbing the paint on when stenciling, as it will seep under the stencil and mess up the design.
